About Me

Brad and I are so excited to be welcoming Baby Oz October 26th, 2012. This year we will be celebrating our 3rd anniversary as a family of 3. We have no idea what to expect on this journey to parenthood, but look forward to sharing as we go. I look forward to having this blog as a way to look back on all the exciting things happening this year. My friend Ashley's sister did this and i think it is a great alternative to posting everything on facebook...not everyone needs to see/read all that! Please, feel free to read and comment as we go. We haven't done this before, so any advice/ tips are welcome! Thanks =)

Max's Castle Where He Is KING!

Fun post alert!!! A little tour of the Max man's room. He loves his room and so do I :) I had an absolute blast picking out everything after we found out we were having a boy and I love that is is growing up with him. Ohh and my child has been in a toddle bed for quite some time now - he was climbing out of the crib at 8 months old and I was terrified of him falling --- so we did a matress on the floor first and then moved him to the toddler bed!
Welcome to Max's room!
He has a TON of hats and loves to wear them! I have had him in a hat ever since he was born and now it doesn't bother him at all. Winning parenting moment right there...it's the little things for sure!
The ball pit! Max's aunt Carol got him this for his birthday and an absolute favorite of Max! If you know Max at all you know he is obsessed with balls - footballs, basketballs, baseballs, you name it! He can play in here for hours and it never seems to get old!
Monogram! Max Harrison Osborne :)
Toys, toys, and more toys!!! It dives me nuts because we still have an entire play room of them downstairs...but what can you do!
This is Max's newest toy that he got when Daddy was in Chicago for a week for work! He loves it and is quite the little chef :)
I actually got this before Max was even born - just couldn't help it!!! So cute :) he loves to sit here and read book or climb on it and look out the window! Very functional little chair.
His big boy bed!!! Again love the bedding. He doesn't sleep with his quilt but instead with the blanket on the bed that his aunt Teri made for him. It is so soft and a must have a bed time. Also on his bed we have Robert the alligator! Robert is a build a bear that we made on our cruise to the Bahamas last year! Can you say spoiled little boy!?!?!?
Lastly I ask a question to all of my blog readers!!!! Don't be shy and let me know  ...do you lay out cloths the night before??? I do this for myself and Max!!! Total time saver in the morning despite how silly it seams. In addition it keeps Max matching if Brad has to get him dressed in the morning! And lastly I had a fab bottle of RED wine tonight...so yummy and a much needed change! I drink so much more white wine in the summer so I have to make sure I mix it up!
Too bad I don't get extra credit for finding this little gem on my cork!!! Gotta love all of the awesome corks I am finding here lately!!! So have a great night everyone...and sorry if this one was boring! Just my life I guess...

Buried and it's only Tuesday!!!

Tuesday nights are typically my favorite night of the week! My day should go something like this - work, pick up Max, dinner, Springfield for gymnastics, amazing music and open road, sleepy baby, wine, DVR, and bed! Today didn't quite run like that...We skipped gymnastics because we will be leaving Max for a wedding this weekend and then I am traveling next week for work! Almost a week without my baby and it's giving me anxiety! Brad has been in this boat when he has had to travel before and skype always gets us through! I don't know how workings parents did it before Skype? So instead I picked up Max, picked up a few groceries, dinner, and played outside. Doesn't sound too bad right? Well we started by playing on the car and then hitting the baseball of the tee...next Max wanted to help me water the flowers. This led to watering him and then taking dirt from my plants and putting it in his hair!
This means a bath and a bath means splashing and 1/2 of the tub water on the floor!!! +minor meltdown because I didn't have bubbles..bad mom?
The one blessings tonight is that he went to be on his own, something he has been struggling with for the past 2 weeks.
Now I am buried in mounds of laundry trying to dig myself out!
I am getting in my trash tv and glass of vino don't you worry! Terrible night - not at all but just not your typical Tuesday in the Osborne household! Tonight I finished off this bottle of Pinot....yummy and I do love the bottle :) I get a little hesitant to do a screw on cap but honestly it was a good wine! Anyone else prefer the cork?
If you read my last post... How ironic is it that this cap has a ''D'' for my maiden name, Dougherty!?!?!
Cheers to a perfect ending to a not so perfect day!

Bottoms Up...We're Catching Up!

So I told you in a previous post that I would have a time when it would SLOW down! Point proven recently right? Things have been crazy over the past week to say the very least and our schedules are not slowing down! The refrigerator is full of upcoming events :)
Over the weekend Max and I (yes your reading this right) ran a half marathon as part of ''team Ty''! A young man named Ty, who did shoreline squad with me last year, ran his first half marathon Saturday! A huge accomplishment right? Well even more so as a young man with cerebral palsy - and he did it!!! We had 13.1 (max was the  .1) people running with him and cheering him on the whole way!!! He is so amazing and I am beyond proud of all he has accomplished. I am sure everyone can agree he ROCKS and I think he is ready to do a full? The Decatur running club family is amazing beyond words - 100% some of the best people you will ever meet! Also rocked my new headband!!! I am in love with this :)

After all of this you can imagine we were pooped! We napped Saturday and rested up for Mother's Day on Sunday! We went to church, lunch, and the zoo - a low key celebration with all of wonderful Moms we have in our life!
Naturally I grabbed for my favorite bottle of Champs on Sunday night In celebration of surviving yet another year as a mom... I am always careful when opening but this time the cork flew!!! It hit the light right above my head and glass was everywhere!!! I was truly lucky that I didn't get hurt with all of the glass flying!!! Thankfully I was fine and just had a little mess to clean up. Side note: use a potato to get out a broken light bulb - I didn't know this!
Monday we did grocery shopping that we didn't do on Sunday and my little guy got a haircut. I literally almost cried because without the combover he looks so grown up :( ...still so cute!
Yesterday we hit the little gym for gymnastics class, where my little Man was doing his forward rolls down the cheese all by himself! Proud mamma right here!!! He is now also saying his name during introductions at the beginning of class (the x is hard but he is doing his best and I can tell what he is saying). He is learning and retaining so much each week!!! Can't say enough great things about TLG Springfield :).

Tonight it was a trip to Colee's corner drug and home! I got all of my goodies to continue my allergy shots and we said hi to our favorite pharmacist Erica Colee!!!
Then I made chorizo stuffed chicken for dinner!!! It was ahhhmazing and so easy : ) I got this from a girl at work and she put it on Pinterest so find it and make it!!! It won't let you down, especially if you love Mexican! Low carb if you don't serve with rice too!!!
And if your like me you don't do your best work in the kitchen with out a little wine to go with! White wine with chicken so I went with a Chardonnay - my fav! I love this one because of the ''O'', it will be a great addition to my cork collection! It is defiantly a barrel aged wine if you like that flavor :)
Thanks for catching up with us - sorry that was so much and if you read this all pour yourself a glass too!!! Cheers!!!

Playtime in the Sunshine!

I'm my goodness today was perfect! Brad was working late so Max and I hit the yard and back deck for playtime! We planted some flowers and brought some toys outside to play. I wish I had pictures of him helping me plant but I was too busy keeping him from eating the dirt and  dumping the dirt on the ground. He didn't quite get it but had a bast doing what ever it was he was doing! We planted two peonies (Aunt Megan's favorite) and two hydrangeas (Mommy's favorite)! We then hit the toys and ate dinner on the back deck :) it was literally the perfect evening! He loves his slide and it scares the crap out of me every time he tries to do it...I keep thinking what if? I need this kid in a bubble because he is too fast for me!!! Did I mention he is a climber...making for a nervous mommy! How did you cope with you kid being an active, fearless, go getter??? I need a lesson...or medication...or tonight a drink! So cheers to a fabulous night!!!! How did you spend yours???
Drinking his nutrition shake (because he is the worlds pickiest eater right now) & driving!
Loving the slide! Mommy not so much :/
If anyone out there has a dog or doesn't and is thinking about getting one...our yellow lab Blitz is literally the perfect dog around kids. He sleeps next to Max and always has and let's him do pretty much anything to him (climb, hit, bite...you name it Max has done it). I can't say enough good things about him and he is literally Max's best friend. He can't quite say blitz but calls him and our other dog Bailey ''B''. The are so cute it just melts my heart!
If you can imagine or can't he was a dirty mess after an evening outside! Dirt everywhere to say the least...so it was off to the bath we went!
Making our bath water orange!!! We love to color our water.
Like I said he won't leave Max's side :)
We have been so good about brushing our teeth lately and I love that we are creating good habits at such a young age. I mean if we don't teach him who will...ohh to be a ''good parent''! We surround him with love and teach him all we can.
Those teeth must be super clean and sparkling white :D!!! Night night all we are of to read a book, say out prayers, and zZzZzZz!
