About Me

Brad and I are so excited to be welcoming Baby Oz October 26th, 2012. This year we will be celebrating our 3rd anniversary as a family of 3. We have no idea what to expect on this journey to parenthood, but look forward to sharing as we go. I look forward to having this blog as a way to look back on all the exciting things happening this year. My friend Ashley's sister did this and i think it is a great alternative to posting everything on facebook...not everyone needs to see/read all that! Please, feel free to read and comment as we go. We haven't done this before, so any advice/ tips are welcome! Thanks =)

Another Monday Living Up To Its Name

Ahhh today was a total Monday in every sense of the word! It was a rough day at work, forgot my gym shoes (took them out to run a 5k this past weekend), came home to a cranky boy...and had a lot to do!!! I had a pick me up while taking some engagement pictures of a great friend I have known since childhood!

They look adorable and I can't wait to edit...but even more to meet this little peanut!!!! I got home around 8:30, just in time to put Max to bed and help my little brother with an art project! The project was pointless and I remember why I hated these classes in college! Sculpture of an animal made out of junk?!?!? And how will that help you get a job??? Exactly!!!
So a candle I can't stand the smell of ever since being pregnant, corks (I have plenty of those), b-dubs wet naps, and some other random things we found in the kitchen! Can you guess what animal this is??? So what is a girl to do I am out of wine, Brad bought Nast vodka, and I need a drink!!!! Lol drive throug liquor store....terrible I know but I was desperate and didn't want to go inside! So desperate and lazy!!! They only had yellow tale to yellow tale it is...not bad and I know I have a drive through close by lol!!!
Never posted about this and why not!!!! Must have electric wine opener :)

So cheers to Monday being over and a better 3 days of work!!! Only 3 because it's wedding week and my best friend flies in tomorrow!!! Can I get a woooo hoo :)

2 Weeks! Better Late than Never

So I have a wedding coming up and have been less than happy when I see how I look in pictures! I know I run all the time but my diet has been non-existent! In order to get my booty in the best possible shape I have decide to hit the gym and the diet hard over the next few weeks...and hopefully turn my ways into a better/healthier lifestyle! I have started working out on my lunch hour and the two days I get allergy shots on my lunch I do a workout DVD at home. Pretty simple  :) I am still getting 2-3 runs a week in because I have to keep in shape for shoreline. I have an eggbeater omelet for breakfast and to get my me I fix, I have been adding banana peppers, tomatoes, jalapeƱos, onions, green peppers but sadly no cheese! Even though on a low carb diet you can have cheese I am cutting it out to get the best results possible. I typically order these from work but this is one u made at home.
Lunch is hard - I do a shake and a single piece of grilled chicken! If I workout on my lunch I do the chicken before and make a shake for after! It works and I have been full until I get home for dinner.
I like to do chocolate with almond milk and a scoop of peanut butter - add ice and blend! It is too yummy :) {thanks Christine for getting me hooked} I cook dinner for the family - mostly chicken and just make them sides and cut the carbs out of mine! Lots of chicken and green beans for the next few weeks! I am using rubs for the chicken to cut the carbs you get from sauces and beading.

You know it isn't a night in the life of mamma oz without a glass of wine! I have been getting the skinny girl wine that has just 100 calories in 5oz! How perfect is that...not to say I never have more than one serving. I use my aerator  on it all the same - if you don't have one get one or befriend me and I will get you one as a gift some day lol...totally my go to gift for all :)
Hope everyone's week is off to a good start! We had a wonderful weekend and I have a LONG blog post coming with tons of pictures from our long weekend in Indy! If you read about my week last week you know it was MUCH needed!!! Cheers to a better week and some sunshine....oh and getting skinny too :)

Everything Happens for a Reason

This week was beyond rough for us, I can't tell you how many times I cried! Max started daycare on Monday and we thought it was going to be great! We have only used in home babysitters that we knew personally before but due to crazy work schedules we thought a daycare would give us some extra felxability. Monday was fine other than I don't think he got enough to drink. Monday nigh we went to his cousins baseball game and he had a blast! He loves watching the game and occasionally trying to run out onto the field. It was a fun night and so far thing were good!
Omg!!! How cute is this :) just love it
Max look over here!
Boys will be boys...
Tuesday the downward spiral began! We took him and dropped him off at daycare as we did before, and my mom picked him up. I met up with my mom to get him because we had to get ready to attend 8th grade graduation for a family friend. I noticed that Max had a bruise on his face and looked closer and it was a bite mark! He had been bit on the face at daycare. My mom looked it over and confirmed. Nothing was on his sheet about it and no call was ever made to Brad or myself. I was not a happy camper and went right back to the daycare! They said they must have not seen it happen, maybe he didn't cry, etc...but not anything I wanted to hear. Angry Ieft, knowing that they were ''looking into it.'' I understand that at this age biting happens bit at least let me know for some peace of mind! The next day when I dropped him off he was terrified to go in... He was screaming and crying and literally trying to climb up the door to get out as I left. It broke my heart and I cried all the way I work. After sitting at my desk for 2 hours i just couldn't do it anymore...so I left to go get him! I text our babysitter and asked of I could bring Max back - thankfully she said yes! When I got there he was eating but fussing and crying. When he saw me it olnly got worse. We collected his things and I told them this was just not for us and Max would not be returning. It may work and be wonderful for some children and their families but it was not for Max or us! We drove over to CoCo's and I dropped him off (still crying - but just me)! When we got there he ran in and never looked back. He was giggling, laughing, and playing with his friends. I felt 1000x better at this point. He was back in a loving and caring environment and my mind was at ease. I went back to work and picked up my happy baby after. It was night and day to what happened that morning. Our sitter doesn't watch kids in the summer because most of them, besides Max, have parents who are teachers. I had already told our summer sitter that we were doing daycare so I was frantic to get things figured out! CoCo and her daughter said they would help this summer but Wednesday would be an issue because she has a class that day. The crazy thing was I had messaged our summer sitter that we used last year and she said she was full --- except for Wednesdays!!! It was meant to be and I had everything covered! I felt it was Gods way of telling me I did the right thing. The next day he went back to CoCo's and they went to the zoo and he had a blas with his friends. When we got home I opened and envelope that had a card in it! Upon reading it I was in tears!
He is so loved by the kids at his sitter and I feel so blessed to have them in his life! Their parents are just as amazing for raising such compassionate and loving children. We are heading out for a long weekend in Indy and could not feel more blessed as we spend this weekend with out little man. After the week we have had I thing we all need it! Just a bump in our road and we were reminded of gods blessings. Make sure to count your blessings and never take them for granted!

Thankful for my angels that are Max's babysitters!!! I know he is going to have an amazing summer :)

Bowling Boy

Not so much a post but we took Max bowling over the weekend and I though I would share :) He loved it and it will definately be heading back again for a date night. They had this little dinosaur thing that we used - he basically would use it to roll the ball down the lane. This and bumpers made for a successful trip! The only thing was he didn't want to stop so we ended up having to split between two lanes. Us at one and Max had his own so he could constantly roll a ball down.

We Have Been Away...Now It's Time to Play

After what seemed like forever away from my baby we had an entire weekend of togetherness! Saturday Max had his show week at TLG where his great-grandparents came to watch him! He has learned so much this semester and I couldn't be more proud of his progress.
Ball time!!!
Bubble time!!!
Popping bubbles with friends!
Medal and certificate ceremony!
Group picture was a challenge...
Great-Grandpa and Grandma so proud!

Sunday it was all about Max yet again! I let him sleep in (yes my kid LOVES to sleeps and we embrace it) and we missed church. We let him sleep until 10:30, because we still wanted him to take a nap and go to bed at a decent time. We ate and then went to the zoo. We got a family membership this year and have been using it often. He loves the zoo and seeing all the animals - telling us what they say. His favorite thing by far is the train and unfortunately it was broke down this day. After making our way through the zoo we played at the playground.
One of his favorite exhibits!!!
This is a good daddy - 6foot 4inches and crawling around like this!
Lifting Max up to see the penguins
Mom Look!!!
Crazy monkey up close...
By this time he was tired! We went home and he took a nap and we spent the evening blowing up his new pool! I'm sure that will be another post! We enjoyed our time together and although work pulls us apart sometimes we make great memories when together! Cheers to a great week everyone!

NOLA

So right after Mindy's wedding weekend I hopped on a plane to New Orleans for work! The flight there was rough (and I am one of those people that needs to be medicated to fly and hate it...but do it all the time) as it was raining the entire time we were there. It was hard to leave Max after not seeing him over thee weekend due to the wedding - but thank god for FaceTime!!!! Best thing ever for any working or traveling parent :) We of course had some meetings but got to explore and eat lots of yummy food too! Below are a few pics from the trip - so much history in this city!
Hotel view
Jackson square
St. Louis Cathedral
Night view with more rain!
I had some amazing merlot while here I wish that I remembered the name of it! Grrrr
